The Lost Constitution and American Exceptionalism

Gonna try and get this going (again, and seriously) in the next month or so. I plan to write about a book Matthew sent me for Christmas (thank-you's are being writ this weekend...) and another one I snatched from home.

If you're curious,
Fwiw, I've got another blog in the works for the random stuff -- "Holy Farglesnot." I'll post a link when it's ready to go. Oh, and if you're aware of the OTHER other blog....thanks for the link(s), but I'm going to let it die in oblivion.

Hm, apparently you can't reply to comment emails... that's kinda silly. So I'll put it here:

I don't see a great correlation between #1 and your conclusion. - Posted by Tom to It's not who you love, it's how. at 1/11/2005 02:53:00 AM

Well, I am of course talking about the most basic sort of liberal vs conservative, those who desire a change to the status quo vs those who don't. And I would contend that cynicism and suspicion of the status quo is a major source of liberalism in any given situation. So someone who rarely experiences such feelings would, I think, tend to be more conservative more often than not. Not /entirely/ without basis is the usual liberal stereotype for a conservative that they're sincere and earnest - to a fault.
